This section will be developed over time. For now, we present the subjects we work with most and regularly discuss with clients.
Hisøy Miljø works with the startup Tectum, which develops Natura AI agents to collect, present and analyse historical environmental data across reports and databases. We collaborate on testing and refining the agents' functions and their further development. The Indre Viksfjord pilot project is an example of this kind of knowledge synthesis.
Requirements for wash-water and runoff management are becoming more stringent. Good solutions require monitoring data, operational insight and realistic remedial design. We help design new measures for emission reductions and responses to new regulatory requirements. See, among other things, our consultation responses to the new Oslofjord Plan 2026-2030 and the proposed regulation on discharge requirements from marinas.
eDNA offers new opportunities to document presence and impacts in aquatic environments where traditional methods alone are insufficient. Hisøy Miljø samples sediment in the Oslofjord to map microbial conditions in parts of the fjord bed.
Bioremediation of contaminated soil - the 2024 regulatory change once again permits bacterial treatment – Hisøy Miljø has many years of experience! In summer 2026, an area contaminated by oil in Asker Municipality was cleared after bacterial treatment. This avoided both discharges to a nearby river and excavation work in vulnerable natural areas.
Early environmental clarification reduces uncertainty in transactions, planning and project development, particularly at coastal and historically impacted sites. In summer 2026, Hisøy Miljø completed an extensive EDD for the Tofte area in Hurum, Asker, and identified significant uncertainty in the existing environmental cost estimates, which affected the outcome of property transactions.
When development is planned on land classified as cultivated or cultivable, the soil properties must be assessed. Otherwise, the entire project may stall. We have several projects, including in Ås Municipality, where we map soil properties and document the correct classification.
